Funding Announcement – LiUNA Local 1059 EAP

We are very excited to announce an increase in funding for our LiUNA Local 1059 EAP program.

In partnership with LiUNA Local 1059, ADSTV provides solution focused addiction and mental health counselling, education, health promotion and case management services to individuals, couples, families and groups of LiUNA Local 1059. Through this initiative, LiUNA Local 1059 members and/or family members are provided services within 24 hrs during business hours.

March 20 – International Francophonie Day

International Francophonie Day (French: Journée internationale de la Francophonie), which celebrates the French language and Francophone culture, is celebrated in the International Organization of La Francophonie’s 77 member states every March 20. There are over 274 million French speakers on Earth.

La Journée internationale de la francophonie est une célébration mondiale de l’Organisation internationale de la francophonie (OIF) ayant lieu le 20 mars de chaque année. Cet évènement a été créé en 1988 comme un moyen pour les 70 États et gouvernements de l’Organisation internationale de la francophonie (OIF) de célébrer leur lien commun — la langue française — aussi bien que leur diversité.

LHINs Patient Experience Survey

Ontario’s 14 LHINs (Local Health Integration Networks) are provincial agencies responsible for planning, integrating and funding local health care. They want to hear from people in communities across Ontario to understand how patients experience the health care system.

National Non-Smoking Week & STOP Program

Are you ready to quit smoking?

National Non-Smoking Week is January 18-24, 2015. This is an important annual event building education on the consequences of tobacco use. The tagline for this year is “Sooner or Later, Everybody Quits”.

Addiction Services of Thames Valley now has a STOP (Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients) Program for eligible clients. Thank you to everyone who attended the French Mental Health & Addiction System Navigation Program Launch.

The launch of the French Mental Health & System Navigation program took place on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Centre Desloges in London.  The event was conducted in both official languages.

This program is delivered by Addiction Services of Thames Valley with the support of the South West LHIN. The OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network) is used to connect clients to the care they need in French.

Event speakers included Suzy Doucet-Simard and Kelly Gillis (South West LHIN), Julie Ridgewell (OTN), David Jeffery (Chigamik Community Health Centre), Léo Desjardins (Mme. Vanier Children’s Services) , Linda Sibley and Gisele Hauser (ADSTV). It was a very successful launch and we would like to thank everyone that attended.
